Father’s Day is just around the corner. With that comes celebrations in all shapes and forms. Thinking of taking your dad out for an exceptional meal in an indulgent location? What to expect at Rare

A special menu will be prepared for the day, complete with multiple courses. Along with the unique lunch menu, there will also be two action stations for the kids. But that’s not all. The occasion will have your children prepare and serve one of the dishes themselves. Of course this will be under the supervision of an expert chef. Kids taking part in the culinary activities of the day will be provide with special aprons. While the dads enjoy their meals and takes some much needed time-out, the kids will be busy with the day’s entertainment activities.


So if you’re thinking of making it to Rare on the 18th, here are few things you should know. Lunch for adults is priced at Rs. 2,900.00 net per person, and children under 12 years of age eat for free from the Special Kids’ Menu (how I wish I was a kid right now). By the way, there will be complimentary beers on offer for dads.

Rare at Residence by Uga Escapes: In case you didn’t know

For those of you not in the know, Rare at Residence is a restaurant owned by Uga Escapes, a subsidiary owned by the Finco Group. The company owns a number of  boutique properties that offer unique experiences across the island. These include Ulagalla in Anuradhapura, Jungle Beach in Trincomalee, Uga Bay in Pasikudah, and Chena Huts in Yala. Chena Huts was actually among the 4 Sri Lankan resorts listed under Condé Nast Traveler 2017 Hot List. Among the boutique properties, Residence by Uga Escapes lies in the heart of Colombo, where Rare is the main restaurant.
