Ronan Keating at Chena Huts by Uga Escapes

Last month, music enthusiasts had the opportunity to get caught in the Boyzone excitement. Fans flocked to Colombo to see the band play as they kicked off the Asian leg of their farewell tour. But this isn’t really about the famous Irish band. At least not entirely. While Boyzone was prepping up for the tour, Ronan Keating decided to make his way to Sri Lanka, well before the concert in Colombo. Why? Hey, its Sri Lanka. Who wouldn’t want to enjoy the island’s serenity?

Wait, Boyzone?

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, then chances are Boyzone is name you would be familiar with. Particularly if you’re a music lover. But in case you are clueless to who they are, Boyzone is an Irish band that gained fame in the early 2000’s. They’ve had 21 singles that made it into the top 40 UK charts. One of their most well known songs, Love me for a reason, is one from their album back in 1995.

The band was made up of Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, Stephen Gately, Mikey Graham, and Shane Lynch. Ronan is also well known as a solo artist with hits like ‘Nothing at all’ and ‘If tomorrow never comes‘.

A little piece of heaven

A little piece of heaven. That’s how Ronan Keating describes his experience at Chena Huts by Uga Escapes. After all, its not everyday you get to wake up next to a jungle on one side, a lake on another side, and the ocean on the other. In case you didn’t know already, Chena Huts is as all inclusive boutique hotel with 14 luxury cabins. Each of these cabins come equipped with private plunge pools, private pavilions, a living area, bedroom, en suite bathroom, along with complimentary mini-bar and facilities.

With a Rs. 800 million investment, Uga Escapes first unveiled Chena Huts back in 2016. Taking up from the traditional old days, the luxury boutique hotel in Yala follows the Chena Huts theme all throughout the residence. Hence the name.

Of course Chena Huts is no stranger to being in the spotlight. Last year, the resort was among the few Asian names to make it into Conde Nast Traveler’s list. They’ve also caught the attention of others like the Vogue as well. So in a way it should come as no surprise to see the likes of Ronan Keating find the perfect get-away destination in Chena Huts.
